In mid-March, Ho Chi Minh City Police issued a notice warning people to be careful with information online to avoid losing their Facebook accounts.

Accordingly, some websites that impersonate Facebook interfaces are designed to create confusion to scam users and illegally obtain personal information.

When a user provides login information, the website stores this information and uses it to gain unauthorized access to the user's Facebook account.

The website can then use this information to carry out fraudulent activities such as posting fake articles, sending scam messages to relatives and friends, or stealing user information.

Ho Chi Minh City police recommend that people be vigilant and carefully read website content and links to avoid providing information to bad guys.

Specifically, on the evening of March 5, Vietnam time, many users were confused when they could not log in to Facebook on both the mobile application and the web version. Not only Facebook, other Meta services also encountered similar problems, including the messaging application Messenger, WhatsApp, social network Instagram and Threads.

The incident caused many users to worry because they thought their Facebook accounts had been taken over by bad guys. When they could not access Facebook, users could not update information about the error status, so they thought that only their accounts were affected.

However, it is worth mentioning that after the problem was fixed by Meta about an hour later, many users had a headache because they forgot their Facebook login password. Some users said that they had not logged in directly by entering their password to access their Facebook account for a long time, so they no longer remembered their password. Therefore, many people have sought support services to unlock their Facebook accounts.

However, according to warnings from security experts, users need to be extremely vigilant with third-party Facebook account opening support services. Experts say that there are many services that take advantage of Facebook's problems, with attractive invitations such as retrieving Facebook passwords in just a few seconds, how to log into Facebook when encountering problems..., however, these services pose a high risk of losing security, users can have their personal information stolen, social network accounts hijacked when following requests, accessing fraudulent websites.

From the recent Facebook incident, experts recommend that in case of sudden inability to log in to social network account, users should stay calm, should not rush to log in again or recover password. Users can contact friends or relatives through other tools or access information channels to see if anyone is experiencing the same situation as them. If so, wait patiently for the service provider to notify about the incident and provide a solution.
